Ever try to get kids to do anything without threats or promises first?

People always seem to need a kick in the pants, literally or metaphorically,
before anything important gets done, even if it is vital to their survival.

Or am I just seeing the glass half empty?

And why haven't orangutans built cars and cities and aquaducts?
