Plan B

I know the feeling well.

And after a long day of running around and now reading your delectable and well-thought out comments, I have made myself a Ketel One martini with olives to celebrate. Today was a day of dire frustration and self-satisfaction. Just one of those days when you start out behind the eight ball and end up in the pocket. However, a rainbow is on the horizon and the chauffeur will be along shortly. (cryptic, I know)

Everywhere I look, my friends and family are paring down. Work is in short supply, wages and hours are on the decline and my situation is looking dicey. That's the problem with being single and having no family money to fall back on. After workng hard my whole life, I can see my whole life in all it's shining glory. We really are multi-dimensional creatures. There's not much we would change; besides it's too late and we learn (?) from our mistakes. The one thing is....I have truly lived and no one has told me how to live it.

Speaking of "trails", Big Brother is tracking all of us. Cell phones can be used to transmit your voice and conversations miles to another programmed cell phone or computer. There are cameras everywhere. Banks and credit card companies track your purchases and your whereabouts, and it's almost impossible to travel anywhere without them. Whether you're bookng a flight, renting a car, going out to dinner, they know where and what you're doing. And they can use it to play ball, and even quarantine you. Ever see that old movie "The Net" with Sandra Bullock?

I recently rented and watched (invited the neighbours over....pretty quiet around these parts) "Quantum of Solace" and was keen on the writer's perspective that there IS an unknown, secret group who buy and pay for countries and it's resources with their nefarious deals and handy hitmen.

Sometimes I yearn for a simpler life, one that isn't so dog-eat-dog. I don't have a government job (yet). One never knows. But I AM getting ready to move into the next adventure of my life, throwing caution to the wind, but TRULY LIVING. And I just put on a Phil Collins CD to drown out my neighbours.....;~)
