re: Some thoughts on Obama's Notre Dame address

I see a new human being created at conception. Why? That is when a new, unique strand of DNA is formed. This DNA is the blueprint for a new human. Inside that DNA is the information on what that new human will look like, and perhaps even what their personality will be like. (On my wife’s (brown eyes) side of the family, all the blue-eyed females have very similar personalities- her sister, aunt, grandmother and our daughter. I know our environments shape our personalities, but I think genetics may also play a part in our core personality.)

While the DNA of a fertilized egg is the blueprints for a unique human, the fertilized egg is the construction crew. The mother provides the space and raw materials (Something the parents will continue to do for years to come).

That view, along with being adopted (and thus a once unwanted pregnancy) are the two reasons I oppose abortion.

I do worry about over population and homeless kids, but there has to be a better way then killing the unborn.
