My post denigrated chickenhawks who think that a cute ceremony once in a while excuses the abuse of our military people in unjust and immoral wars.
As with many things in life there are levels. That was a warm, cute story, about a wounded, injured man and his accomplished mother.
Anyone who can find fault with my stating that man shouldn't have been wounded, shouldn't have been injured, and there should have been no story has problems.
And the warm feelgoods the chickenhawks pass around among themselves come at the expense of a betrayed, misused military composed of fine people whose only mistake was to trust politicians with their bodies and brains. It's a bit like honoring gladiators, sacrificed for the imperial amusement. Not quite, but almost.
As I said, the story is a flower growing out of manure. Cynical, am I? To the max. Are my comments directed at the men and women below the rank of O-7? I have no idea how anyone could get that idea. None. The general officers are on their own.
I certainly haven't made any friends with these posts. And I do like to be liked. There are matters which are more important than that, however.

Anyone who can find disrespect for military personnel here is perverted.
