Not all PC is from the left, and feelgood stories about the troops have been a part of war propaganda since Goebbel's time. I recall one newsreel about Wehrmacht troopers passing out candy to Ukrainian kids.
Some stories are designed solely to flush out and discredit cynics, and by their very nature, cynics tend to be a bit paranoid.
But Bowser and I are both ex-GIs, from a a very cynical and paranoid war, perhaps we can be forgiven a little unjustified deja vu.
