At the risk of opening up old woiunds,

and not meaning to cast any aspersions at you, Rob, I can still see Bowser's POV. It's why I made my original snark in the first place.

How many times in the past has a sincere criticism of strategy or concern over policy been dismissed as treachery, a seditious "failure to support our troops"? In the Vietnam era, there was no middle ground, and one was forced to choose one side or the other. The same divisive tactic was attempted during the 2nd Iraq war, (especially after it was obvious it was the same error), but this time it didn't work.

I hope you can see why this is such a sensitive subject for us old-timers. For us, it's not a new debate, but a continuation of a very old one. The veterans of the 60s culture wars are still fighting the same battle. We're just all older now.
