And by the way...

I happen to care deeply that our leadership felt compelled to put Bible quotes on governmental documents. It scares the hell out of me that people with their hand on the nuclear trigger feel that whacked out ancient texts have some bearing on modern foreign and military policy. The propaganda impact those covers would have had, had they seen the light of day during the early days of the Iraq War, could have been devastating to our troops. The message would have gone out to the Arab world that we were engaged once more in a Christian crusade.

Oh, please. Like I said elsewhere, if there's so much concern about our troops, what explains the eagerness of the Left to spread the word? Is there the slightest doubt in your mind that if this information had come to the attention of Democrats and their media pals at height of the war, it wouldn't have been on the front page of the Washington Post? Was there the slightest hesitation is publishing the Abu Ghraib pictures across the planet? After the past few years, it's become obvious that Democratic politicians and their allies were quite willing to "devastate our troops" to gain political power. It was practically a full-time job for them for a while.

So you'd like guns in your national parks? Is that what you're saying Tom?

Up until a law against it was passed about 20 or so years ago, it's never really been a problem. Many states allow guns in state parks. Try and imagine telling Teddy Roosevelt he couldn't carry a loaded gun in a national park.

What percentage of national Democrats are in favor of banning light bulbs and trans-fats? None that I know personally are.

Maybe you need to ask around a bit more. The 2007 Congress has already banned incandescent light bulbs between 40 and 150 watts after 2014. I didn't see a lot of Democrats screeching about it. In fact, a few of them on this board made fun of those who opposed it. Did you? You might want to wander through the rest of the 2007 "Energy Independence and Security Act" to see all the other places the government is going to force us into their mold.

As for transfats, bannings are taking place all over. Maybe one or two of these were Republican or conservative efforts, but I doubt it.

"Making it in our financial best interest" means legally penalizing those who won't play along. If there's one thing the Left is good at is generating nice euphemisms for their actions.

I know what "liberal" meant a generation or two ago. But the ones running the movement now, and gaining more power in government, are just wanna-be fascists who don't believe that anything Americans do should be beyond their control. Your unwillingness to recognize this is your problem, not mine.
