Part of it is that it gets at the kids at an early age. Once beliefs are formed they are hard to change.
Regarding indoctrinating children, the responses are predictable. Conservatives will applaud the technique for "our" agencies while decrying the practice for "their" agencies. It's always that way.
Big government under a Conservative administration is good, big government under a Democratic administration is bad. Aggression by the US is good, aggression by anyone else is bad.
It's irritating that the CIA can take tax dollars away from their mission to engage in such an activity. If they did their job and did it well they'd be fine.
Though I think they were worked over pretty hard by the previous administration. It might have been impossible to know what their job was.
