Boy, does that sound familiar?

Well, the Republicans not only risk losing women and Latins, they're also going to really alienate the diabetic vote; or at least the few who weren't already driven off by their stand on stem cell research.

Suicide is definitely the right term. Most cogent Republicans (the ones you don't see running around making asses of themselves) are just trying to keep a low profile until the Democrats screw up. Rush and Newt obviously haven't gotten the memo. Even if they should win this fight, what will they gain but total exhaustion and loss of blood? And the next Obama nominee will make Ms Sotomayor look like Mamie Eisenhower.

It doesn't take a mental giant to figure out that Obama is either going to fail, or succeed, big time. If he succeeds, there's nothing they can do to stop him and a long term Democratic future. If he fails, they need do nothing at all to cut him down to size. The Democrats will unravel and leave a vacuum they can simply step into. The smart thing for them to do now is nothing, but desperation breeds contempt, and impatience, and panic.
