Getting you bogged down in trivial little details about old speeches, bringing up minutia that they never took note of until they went scurrying off for ammunition AFTER they heard she was nominated, changing the area and topic of debate and moving it into an other arena altogether, forcing a change of subject and creating a distraction. They are making YOU defend an irrelevant incident from the past rather than point to tangible events or decisions that have already demonstrably affected her work on the bench.
You will notice no one has brought up what really matters: her record in the courts, her decisions, the way she ruled on cases, possible trends and patterns in her judgements. Maybe its because they haven't got anything, even from the point of view of their own tight-assed ideology.
The political fight on this board mirrors the fight on the national scene. The debate will make no difference to the outcome of her nomination, it will simply keep the waters muddied and the community divided, and keep the agenda where they want it and so they can control it.
This board is finished, there is nothing left here to talk about, and I want no more part of it any more.
