The folks with a financial interest in the status quo, the folks who are afraid of expenditures for the environment, continually accuse some amorphous conglomeration of having come together to promote a phantom threat so as to make billions upon billions.
It's the status quo folks who are organized, who have sophisticated PR firms and strategies, and who stand to gain from ignoring global warming. The folks going for change may make some money, but aren't close to the oil companies, coal companies, auto manufacturers and other enormously large outfits.
It really does remind me of the tobacco folks denying that tobacco caused cancer. Well-funded, slick, they lied as long as they could in order to reap profits from other's ills.
Too bad. With AGW by the time it's proven they were wrong it will be too late. And they'll never admit they were wrong. Constitutionally incapable.
