Labelling

I do actually support requirements that restaurants provide some basic, approximate nutrition information. As a diabetic -- the chronic illness I've mentioned in health care threads -- it would be much easier to eat out, and that applies to Americans with all sorts of medical conditions. Clearly you don't need disclosures to know that cheesecake is more fattening than a salad with vinegar and olive oil, but there can be all sorts of surprises hidden in a menu, with one place's preparation being unusually high in fat or sugar or something. But, TB, I imagine you're opposed to even having government health inspectors checking for salmonella in the kitchen, so I doubt we can find common ground here.
