But, TB, I imagine you're opposed to even having government health inspectors checking for salmonella in the kitchen, so I doubt we can find common ground here.
This is the usual crap where someone tells me that just because I don't think the government should be putting a penalty tax on my soda pop or telling me what light bulbs to use that I also believe we should get rid of all the traffic laws.
There's a big difference between food safety issues and forcing the beliefs of health nuts on all of us. Personally, I have no problem with regulations on accurate labeling, since information is key to freedom of choice.
A lot depends on whether or not they get weird about it. We have a law in California that states that the presence of ANY substance that is known to cause cancer under ANY conditions requires a warning sign in the facility. The end result, of course, since almost everything can cause cancer under some conditions, is that every facility in California has such a sign and nobody pays attention to them.
I find that heavy doses of regulation have the side effect of driving small businesses out of the market, and the same will go for restaurants.
I've asked others this question: Where's your limit? At what point would government interference in your personal daily life become too much government interference?
