This species of "homo" will never make it work.
We're predators, our egos are competitive, and there will always be individuals attempting to gain dominance. Factions would develop, each promising to meed the needs of the group, and ultimately there will be violence, justifiable, of course.
The problem will be that there won't be the room or the resources to allow for the strife into which humans degenerate over time, every time.
Unless there's a frequent rotation to the base and residence in the colony is regarded as a privilege it's not going to work. It's in the genes. And egos.
