Off Topic » in reply to Generation Gap grows wider...

The old have always complained about the young.

I even catch myself using the same language my seniors used to criticize me with when I was a youth. I don't like their work ethic, their disrespect for tradition and institutions, lack of education, their morals, their sexuality and their music. And I'm not just saying this to make a point, I can articulate my arguments logically and convincingly.

Every generation in history has done this, consistently. Ours is no different. The young have yet to prove themselves. We've had our chance, and they have every right to judge us. I say we get out from behind the wheel and let them drive, we can always be there if they ask for directions.

And remember, if we don't like the way they've turned out, we have no one to blame but ourselves. They are our children and grew up in the world we created.
