I believe everyone is scared to death of the situation, and have doubts as to the wisdom of Obama's various efforts. And I don't know there is precedent for handling as many potentially devastating circumstances as he inherited.
Given the desperate straits in which Bush left the country, the fact there is no way anyone ever envisioned the US could be screwed over so badly by so few so rapidly also means there is no road map for getting out of the mess.
The old saying fits. If you aren't scared you aren't aware.
