Due to the lack of continental plates and tectonics - Is that theory now
out the window due to these new findings?

Or did Venus resurface itself but it happened gradually over time rather
than one massive set up eruptions in relatively recent geological history?

Once again, we really need to explore this fascinating world in depth.
Drop a bunch of seismometers around the planet for starters.
