You compare ALL CEOs with a single company.

What you should do is compare the R&D expenditures of that company with TOTAL EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION, the CEO plus all of the rest of senior management.

Also, I simply don't believe that the Fortune 500 CEOs get a mere five billion among them. That amounts to only 5,000,000,000 / 500 = 10,000,000 each. I frankly think that they get paid much more.
