There seem to be a number of people in various branches of our government who are seriously annoyed that it is not possible under our system to simply pass decrees and force us to live under them. They hate the idea of American citizens getting involved. Of having to explain things to voters. Of having to go every two years to voters with hat in hand. As far as this elite is concerned, the average American citizen has no idea what's best for him, and should sit down, shut up, and do what they're told.
The legislative process, which is supposed to grind exceedingly fine, has been perverted into a system where the goal seems to be passing something in the dark of night that contains all the crap the elite would decree if they could get away with it. The end result is no different than if Nancy Pelosi had simply stood up and said "so it is written, so let it be done."
Here's one person plowing through the bill. I haven't checked all the references, so take the comments with a grain of salt, but if only half of them are accurate, it's a shocker.
I think we are in serious danger when trillion-dollar bills plow through Congress and are signed before anybody at all actually reads the whole thing. This is an end run around how our government is supposed to work.
