re: What you don't understand...

Do you understand how many financial businesses have total assets over $1 billion? Do you realize that they have quietly extended these controls to include businesses that have never taken government bailouts? (The vast majority of them.)

"...The wealthy lining their pockets at the expense of the less well off..."

There is no truth to this statement. The money flows the other way, by orders of magnitude. Remember, we're talking mostly companies that did NOT take tax money for bailouts, so even if you talk about tax money that might have gone elsewhere, it doesn't stand up.

People are "madder than hell" because they are being directed to be by politicians and the media. This is just one skirmish in the war on the private sector. Over August there will be a huge anti-business push on the part of the Democrats. Watch for it, particularly attacks on the private health care system. They're counting on people not looking too closely at their arguments.

This particular bill will probably go nowhere, but it's sobering to know that there are that many people in our leadership who think like this, and no doubt there's a lot of other similar ideas waiting in the wings.
