No public funds for campaigns either.
Here is my proposal.
Each candidate has an absolute limit of campaign spending of $20,000. ($100,000) for the office of president. All campaign funds must come from the pocket of the candidate. Abe Lincoln got his word out without modern conveniences like the Internet. I foresee each candidate with a web site expressing his platform, plus making a few speeches in public places. Period. No TV ads, no radio ads, and so forth, because they are simply too expensive. No "donations" of free TV or radio time either.
