It is policy now for every airport bar to check everybody's ID. You could be the oldest man in the world - and look it - but they will still check your ID. I don't think they are worried about underage drinking.
I used to be a member of Sam's Club, a Walmart company, and they would always check the reciept verses your goods at the door. This was back in 1999. They are well known for being hyper about theft, remember how they would lock the employees in during the night stocking shift? I never shop at Walmart. I can't stand the place. I did go into one recently to get something while on a road trip. I swear I had to take a shower afterwards, I felt so gross. Everything about it was unpleasant.
As a habit, I try to use locally owned business, if possible. I get videos from the store up the street, not netflix. It's owned by this really nice retired woman. If they don't have it, there is a local video store that has every film ever made, practically. We have a great locally owned bookstore. During the summer, we have a farmer's market that provides organic vegies and fruit. The locally owned hardware store (and un-affiliated) has pretty much everything I ever need. I can't remember the last chain resturant I went to, but it must have been on the road somewhere. We've even started to get our dairy products from a local dairy farm.
