Feinstein's hands were tied until the witness was ready and willing to step up publicly with the charges. If what you say is true, then Feinstein would never have admitted it, and the GOP would never have admitted they had the evidence and moved ahead anyway. I can just imagine how the GOP (and you, too!) would be squealing bloody murder if Feinstein had made these charges by pulling them out of thin air and not mentioned her source or any other details.

No Rob. You can't have it both ways. The issue here is not whether or not a crime was committed, or even whether or not Kavanaugh is a trivialized rapist. The real crime and sin here is that the Republicans are so ready to stack the court with their yes-men and corporate toadies in order to protect their pro-business political gains that they are loathe to delay the proceedings until after the election. It fits in with the way the anti-Obamacare and pro-business tax/budget were railroaded through congress in the middle of the night, with no debate, no hearings and no committee activity. That's the only "last hour advantage" I see here. Its the same motivation for what they did to Obama's court nominee.
