Things have always been bad, yes. But there is improvement.
Like I mentioned elsewhere, I do agree propaganda is a thing. However, people have agency, and can and do make their own choices, especially with the help of others. Just because evil does exist, doesn't mean people won't recognise it. It also doesn't mean those mislead are beyond redemption.
Considering how Biden himself - the candidate most of us support - is calling for the same things I'm calling, I do not, and will not believe, that peace amongst Americans is not an option. I will be doing that Kumbaya crap, happily and willingly so. If klansmen and klan leaders can be convinced to repent (by the minorities they hated, of all people), and 20th century Germans, both previously for, and perpetually against the Nazi regime, can come together to fight against them, then Trump supporters can be successfully reunited with the "liberals". Because this is America, and it's the only country we have.
Fascist tendencies have risen in our "allies", as well; they might talk a big game, but they're undergoing the same problems as we are. If America wants to lead the fight to freedom, we need to lead by example, and the Biden presidency is a step towards that. The Coalition for Sanity is running low, and we need to rise again.
I understand you're tired and frustrated, but I'm going to disagree with you on these points. I'm going on record here as saying I like you guys, but RL is a total nutcase when it comes to politics, and his views, and the rhetoric with which he communicates them, should not be followed, much less given the time of day. The people who would tear this country apart, especially now of all times, are no better than the people they claim to oppose.

- And I disagree
- This is how some Germans repented
- I guess I just take human rights, attacks on our democracy, and the homicide of hundreds of thousands of Americans a bit more seriously than you...
