Valiance, my friends.
Though the better part of valor remains discretion, discretion is not always what it's cracked up to be. Being from an incredibly huge family (250+ counted at the last reunion of those who showed) that spans the political parties, and personally remaining neither Democrat or Republican I try to not cheer very loudly for either side, allowing the shouts of cheer and derision to unfold around me in the inevitable chaos and eventually congratulating the winner with a straight face, for what harm could four short years bring to such a great nation as this?
And then there are the “oh well” years—far too many of them—in which neither party can seem find a viable candidate to run for office ... any office at all.
Still, one can generally find excellent points on either side of any given ballot to shroud personal misgivings for votes cast and my doctor says this attitude is good for my heart. Besides, there will always be another election to clean up whatever mess may follow... After all, that's really what elections are for, to dot the skipped I's and cross the missed T's—a sort of learning curve to right the wrongs of previous administrations, previous ventures into that twisted political arena—to make a better decision next time around...
Yes. Four long, grudging, vacuous years under a megalomaniac CinC who scoffed away any hope for global democratic unity, a self-proclaimed demagog shouting down the slightest opposition to whatever half-baked claims his own befuddled sciences insisted worked (not even alchemy) and blindly leading the way, spear raised high and charging headlong into his personal dark-age, with a large percentage of our benighted populace hot on his heels—and this final year of his reign far more terrifying than those previous, earning for himself a crest decorated with a lone cross-eyed Lion, rampant on a Field of Republican Red behind a short, rickety wall (our national defense shield), thickly speckled with his yet-to-be-tallied Covid-infected victims and party-member martyrs alike as his blazon for posterity.
Should any of you ever visit his upcoming presidential library (history demands he build one, you know)—probably with bricks of platinum and gold—by all means go, but wear a mask. I think it would be only fitting.
What harm indeed?
Sadly, his presidency was not illegitimate, merely wrong, and ever will he march to his own oblivion. A sad soul, really.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of Science! Cut the madness.
...pie jesu domine, dona eis requiem...
Scientists to run sciences.
Politicians to run counties.
Actors to run theatrical performances.
IT techs to run networks.
Real-estate pros to buy and sell properties.
Business persons to run businesses.
Cheese unt crackers, how bleeding difficult can it be...?

Beautiful. I liked the Benito reference . . .

- I'm tired of talking about this. It is just too painful to contemplate any more.
- And I disagree
- This is how some Germans repented
- I guess I just take human rights, attacks on our democracy, and the homicide of hundreds of thousands of Americans a bit more seriously than you...
