But I do know that they might as well be.
I doubt it is an overt coordination, but their talking points reinforce each other and are influenced by each other- A well choreographed dance of disinformation.
Both praised Trump when he was in office, both smear Biden and criticize his every action. Both, at their core, are selling the idea that democracy as it exists now is a farce, it is broken. It must be replaced...

The Republicans do it so they can seize power by any means necessary, Putin does it because it is in his best interests to have democracies fail- that is why the Russians are engaging in a massive effort to undermine democracies globally. When his people rise up to demand democracy Putin wants to be able to point to democracies in chaos and decline - 'THAT is what my opponents want for Russia'. Also democracies struggling with internal strife will be too busy to oppose Putin's plans for expansion.

The American Right and the Russians have one thing fundamentally in common- a desire for an autocracy... Not just in Russia, not just in America- they want it globally.

Steve Bannon and other MAGA minions are even now trying to ensure Brazil's Bolsanaro stays in power- by insurrection if needed... sound familiar?
