I may be wrong, after all, I have not seen the movie. But from what I can gather just from that article, reading between the lines, it sounds like toxic, malignant right-wing filth to me.
This is a new kind of propaganda, that is just starting to emerge from the spin doctors on the Right, it supposedly tries to show "both sides". IOW, it attempts to establish a kind of "equivalence", or balance, to demonstrate that liberal and conservative ideas are just 'opposite ends of a political spectrum', a kind of tension, with each side having a balance with the other. "They just have different points of view". My ass!
By saying "a plague on both your houses", or alternatively, "both sides are just extremes" and "there is a possibility to meet honorably in the middle", it attempts to give legitimacy to people like, well, the bulk of the GOP.
Maybe that was the case a half century ago, between Eisenhower Republicans and Stevenson Democrats. But it ain't the case today. The Democrats haven't changed that much, but the Republicans are now more like Franco or Mussolini. And some, like their current poster boy, are not that far from Hitler.
Sorry, Rob. You'll get no squishy, hand-wringing, Kumbaya pansy liberal bullshit from me. The Republican Party right now is Fascist, period, full stop, with the exception of those few brave souls who went on public record to denounce Trump and distance themselves from him and the rest of the Nazi wannabees, cowards, sycophants and brown-nosers on the Right.
I'll tell you just how serious I am about this. If the GOP wins control of the House and Senate this November, I will no longer be posting on this forum. I will fear for the safety of myself and my family. Once those bastards take power they'll be seeking out people like me, and eventually they'll be coming after us. And don't feel left out, brother. Sooner or later they'll be coming after your jive ass, too.
