Pretty much proves my point, really. Lots of people have adopted these new technologies, and it's to be expected that not everybody will use them for a higher purpose..."especially reactionary ones". Never forget that your opponents are only metaphorically Neanderthals; they'll fight using the same set of available weapons.
While none of your grab bag of communication technologies has, by itself, brought "instant freedom to the world", people have in fact used them to liberate themselves and their peoples. The fact that oppressors have used the same technologies hardly invalidates their power for good.
It's an arms race at all levels of tool-using ape society. Same as it ever was.
One last "huh?"...I'm an old guy, ER, I didn't grow up with the Internet. Hell, I remember when CB radio was "newfangled". I was taught electronics first using vacuum tube technology, then we worked up to transistors based on the analogy between a PNP sandwich and a triode.
Which makes me a lifelong tool-using ape, I'll grant you. But I think it also hardens me against "seduction". I make this crap, I'm not made by it. Nobody can be more skeptical of new technology than a techie.
