Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: The Enterprise Project

You are right in pointing that the air and gravity have very little to do with the ability of the spacecraft to function once they are in space.

What I was referring to is the fact that in order to get into space and to come back from there you must travel through the atmosphere.
On the way down, the spacecrafts surface is subjected to the heat caused by the friction of air.
On the way up, the rocket must expend a lot of fuel to escape from the planets gravitational influence.

By understanding where or how the gravitational field is generated, and why it affects mass the way it does, it will make it possible to counteract the effect and in the process save a lot of fuel when going into space.

Understanding the Coanda effect, Bernoulli’s principle and the Venturi effect would be a good start in the right direction, I think.
The extrapolation of the Coanda effect might be useful in improving the flight of the spacecraft when it is in the atmosphere.
