Oppy hits 2000 Sols on Mars

Nice little tribute done over at Doug's outstanding website, unmannedspaceflight.com.

I'm excited about the new mission finding clays at Endeavor crater, 10 miles away. Oppy is already one of the most successful robots of all time. Analyzing those clays would yield more important science than anything else it has done yet.

I can't believe there aren't more of these rovers in the pipeline yet. How many MERs could we make for the cost of one MSL?
