I feel much better today for America's future because Obama's policy of reaching out with respect to the muslim world has hit the terrorists where it hurts the most: recruitment.
One of many of the myths the Left is trying to sell.
Here's an article from the known right-wing rag The Guardian on the Al Qaeda recruitment problems:
^Lethal strikes by CIA drones – including two this week alone – have combined with the monitoring and disruption of electronic communications, suspicion and low morale to take their toll on al-Qaida's Pakistani "core", in the jargon of western intelligence agencies.^
You might note that "Obama bowing to Muslims" is not on this list. Nor is his enlightened attitude, or his outreaching hand. Now, if we want to talk about Obama's Hellfire missiles, or his intense intelligence operations, both continuations of the Bush way of doing things, you might have a point.
I can imagine Obama is popular in Egypt. In Israel, sole bastion of true democracy in that entire area, about four percent of Israelis think Obama is pro-Israel.
I recommend a little more research on "big stick" diplomacy as used by Teddy Roosevelt. I do not think it means what you think it does. Start here.
