If only people new how really bad it was in the 1800s they wouldn’t be so reluctant to be vaccinated for the H1N1 flu, or any other vaccination. I was recently listening to some audio recordings of an aunt of mine who died a number of years ago. She was recounting the story of her life. At one point she was telling the story of her husbands family back in the late 1800s. He was one of 9 children in his family. The sad thing is that he was the only one who survived to become an adult. All of the rest of his siblings died of one disease or another, small pox, diphtheria, and so forth, all of which are now preventable with a vaccine. It’s incomprehensible to me that people are frightened to death to take a flu shot! The risks are minimal and the benefits are life saving. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than of getting a bad reaction to a vaccination. Most reactions amount to no more than a sore arm or a slight fever.
