gothgirl, I must disagree with your statement that soldiers are victims.
Often, they are.
But in the "free" countries they are nearly all volunteers these days. Back when, the draft got'cha ass. (Yeah, I know, that's one we could argue about for a very long time. Let's not, OK.)
Having experience in this matter I can say that some don't beleieve in what they're doing. But the vast majority do.
