The series is floundering, trying to find a course toward what could be an excellent show. And failing miserably, I agree about the soap-opera effect. For the first time I didn't watch the entire hour. When it devolved into the cheating estranged wife/couples with issues/ you have a son you never knew thing? Then I gave up and watched Pirates of the Caribean (for the 40-somethingth time), switching back and forth, hoping to catch some real SciFi plotlines.
One thing that did catch my attention, Rush lying about finding another Icarus planet. Additional wrinkles in the character relations. And, the one Enlisted man's slipping toward the edge of some kind of breakdown.
