I'm personally annoyed by anyone who simply shouts down a speaker, or makes it somehow impossible for a speaker to talk. It's bad form. This applies to leftists or rightists, and the "shouting matches" on many news programs are one reason I don't watch them. The author of the article correctly points out that it's hypocritical to condemn such tactics on one side while ignoring it on the other.
But I'm also annoyed by people, and I suspect this author is one of them, who pretend that this technique was suddenly invented out of whole cloth this year by middle-class conservatives. It has long been enshrined by leftists as a technique, with groups like Code Pink practically making a career out of it. It has made it nearly impossible for conservatives to speak at colleges, for example.
