That was bizarre.

Lee and his ilk are threatening armed insurrection, which by itself is criminal and could be countered by routine law enforcement. It's unlikely that the government will prosecute, however, for fear of charges of using the law for partisan purposes. We'll wait to see if the nutcases act on their threats, and if they do, they'll be flattened by society's institutions of self-defense that exist for just that purpose.

So why would I personally have to employ violence or lawyers (violence of another kind) against rightwing domestic terrorists? This is a law enforcement problem. Trying to frame it as a matter for vigilante justice is committing the same mistake Lee and his ilk are making, and the whole point is to spare America exactly that kind of lawlessness and violence.

If you listen to their words, you'll constantly hear the comforting self-delusional assertion that the teabaggers represent the majority or the mainstream of America. They do that to give themselves the courage to make their threats, but in point of fact, tea baggers and othere rightwing nutjobs are just a tiny minority in America. They can't prevail in armed revolution, not even close. No matter how many firearms they stockpile under the Second Amendment.
