Re: "Iraq is better off than they were under Saddam"

If one is forced to share an apartment with others one cleans it up. If certain roomies don't, and what's more don't even recognize that cleaning things up IS a good thing, then if one wants it clean one eventually has to clean up their messes too. National sovereignty is an invention used to keep order by people who realize the value of order.

We can argue that the regimes in Iraq and Afghanistan had the RIGHT to exist unmolested by western ideas and values, but eventually one realizes there is only feedback. Every nation gets exactly what it deserves. Each nation, like every individual, creates their own circumstances - no matter how much they want to point the finger at others and say THEY are to blame.

History is a perfect teacher.

Feedback.

Action.
Reaction.

There are no innocents, no blameless or faultless nations, people or races.

Once one understands this one *understands* all events and can't feel sorry for any one nation, person - or oneself. Naturally, this is absolutely rejected by those who still cling to the escape mechanism of pointing the finger. Once they are freed of giving the finger to everyone - they find their circumstances change dramatically.
