Help Support Organized Crime!

Dear Fellow board members,

Organized crime needs your help. Over the years, zealous prosecutions have left many major crime families broken, with their most esteemed members in jail. Now, another threat, bigger than all of those in the past has arisen:
__
Drug Legalization!__

Drug legalization could very well destroy the principal source of capital for organized crime. Do you want your local mob boss to be out of a job? Certainly NOT! The mob needs drug money not only for direct income, but to support its many other public-spirited activities such as extortion, murder-for-hire, prostitution, crooked gambling, fixed horse races, and the like.

Furthermore, Drug Legalization would add seriously to the problem of unemployment.

1. The DEA and other drug police would be out of business, so their employees would be out of work.

2. Judges, lawyers, and police would all have reduced caseloads, leading to unemployment among them as well. Do you want to turn idle lawyers loose on the public? How horrible.

3. Prisons, deprived of their main source of inmates, would languish largely empty, putting prison many personnel out of work.

4. Fences would be deprived of the goods that they acquire from junkies to finance their habits. This would not only put the fences out of business, but also deprive you and me from buying the low-cost items that they sell. Who else but a fence can you get a new 4x6 foot HDTV for $99? Where else can you get a brand new Corvette with forged papers for $10,000?

5. Deprived of operating capital, prostitution would be seriously hurt. This would be unfair to these girls (and a few guys) who need to make a living too. They would then be dumped on the conventional labor market, for which they are not prepared, generating more unemployment.

6. Organized crime personnel would lose their jobs. Our communities would have to do without the valuable services provided by goons, enforcers, hitmen, and others. More unemployment.

Please, I appeal to you, do not let organized crime down. Write your elected representatives at once and tell them in no uncertain terms that you are opposed to any and all forms of legalization of addictive drugs. You will be performing a public service by keeping local and national organized crime families strong and financially solvent.
