I have a BA in Economics. My freshman prof authored a book titled "The Economic Way of Thinking". If you are a student of Economics, you look at the world with an eye towards the underlying economic forces behind all decisions not covered by morality.
A little knowledge of Economics make reading the newspaper a whole lot more interesting.
