I suspect that many of the ways money can be made with space travel remain to be discovered. It's like telling a medieval glassblower "hey, guess what else you can do with silicon!"
There are a lot of potential markets - I did a lot of studies on this back in my early private space days - but most of them are stuck right now on enormous transportation costs. I'm hoping private space companies will help on this. The trick is to make sure they don't get folded into the government bureaucracy to the point where they become part of the problem.
