Too many politicians are liars and hypocrits
Too many politicians on both sides of the great divide are self-serving and corrupt. Blago, my ex-governor and a Democrat, is a virtual poster-boy for a lot of what's wrong with politics in this country.
One of the things our government does very well is put a lot of money and power into the hands of people who *really* want a lot of money and power. Expecting good policy out of people like that is like expecting the fox to do what's best for the hens.
