Gil Levin Vindicated?
Hi All
A piece by Michael Brooks at "The Daily Mail", not the most reputable News source, but Brooks is usually a good science writer...
The sewage engineer, the 'Wow! Signal' and the proof that there really IS life on Mars
...in summary the "Viking" landers had 3 life detection experiments. Two experiments gave positive results and one didn't - BUT that one was a dud, as some of the engineers who worked on it admitted much later. Gil Levin, who worked on one of the positive experiments, has argued for +30 years that the "Viking" results have been systematically misrepresented as 'negative' or 'ambiguous'. Maybe he's right, but we won't know until we go look in more detail.
