i'm not conflating the concepts of "..."secondary education," "book smarts," "intelligence," and "common sense" into one solid lump...", my point is that the party who casts joe the plumber, sarah palin and gwb as paragons of intellectualism, does.
As for scientists or artists, I wouldn't mind seeing a politician with either of those educational backgrounds. but engineers and businessmen are too much like lawyers, they should be disqualified right off the bat.
