I just smacked into A Great Obama Tax Cut.

TurboTax (I'm running late this year. Shut up.) has informed me that my son's college bill has entitled me to an "American Opportunity Credit" on my taxes. And a pretty big one, at that.

A tax credit to boot, not a deduction.

Damn right I'm going to take it. Five years of having one kid or the other in college, and every year I've made "too much money" to deduct the thousands in tuition.

But now it can be officially said I benefited from the "stimulus" package.

And yes, I didn't have to post this. But facts are facts, even if I lose some political ammunition along the way.

More importantly, if anyone else has a kid in college, you might want to make sure you didn't miss this. It's new.
