Would this be the law I referred to in this post?

Background on the law here. I don't agree with some of the provisions - some of this stuff is pretty fuzzy - but at some point we either have to do something about illegal immigration (employer penalties are a good idea) or scrap all the pretense.

We can argue about the details, but at some point the question becomes "is a person who enters the country illegally doing something illegal?" Either the term illegal alien means something or it doesn't. If it does, how do you propose enforcing the laws?

Does it make a difference that this is a state law and not a Federal one? Should it?

We used to have a Canadian working with our company, and damn straight the government could and did ask for proof of his legal residence now and then.
