You know, this is not a purely abstract theoretical argument. You can look at societies all across the world and history, and see which ones actually have, or had, the most real wolves, and where people have been preyed on the most. Which countries had the most individual freedom, and which ones had the highest standards of living even for the lowest economic sectors. Then you can look at their ideologies, philosophies, and the relationships between individuals and the state. The curve practically draws itself.
Ideas count for something. Ideas have created the greatest nations in the world, and the worst.
If it wasn't for the misery involved, I'd almost wish they'd preserved the division of East and West Germany as an example.
