You want to draw up a list of ways in which Republicans are trying to "control" me, and ways in which Democrats are?

You came up with two examples. When you come down to it, it's usually the only two examples. There is really no "etc., etc." But let's take a look at those.

Abortion is legal across the U.S. This is interesting, considering it's apparently appropriate for the government to protect my right to kill my unborn children, but not to protect my right to choose to eat salt. How do people integrate those two ideas?

As for what we teach in schools, a few isolated districts have come up with a few odd things. How does this compare to a government school system completely run by a single political ideology at every level? You are right to worry about what kids are learning in schools, but it has nothing to do with evolution.

Meanwhile, the "progressives" claim the right to run every aspect of my life on almost every level, economic and personal. I used to hear "keep the government out of my bedroom." Who is it that's in all the other rooms, or in my office, or outdoors?
