Gosh, we haven't seen anybody else cherry-pick people out of a vastly larger group and declare them to represent the entire group lately, have we? Or put "plants" into a protest movement?
For the record, I have heard many more people like that in interviews and things. One guy makes a regular event of just picking people off the street and asking them questions like "who's the vice president?" This is done live, so "cherry picking" is not an excuse. One only hopes the interviewees are too apathetic to vote. This bit and others like it have made the rounds, too.
Those who want political power above all else are delighted with stupidity and ignorance. Stupid and ignorant people are much easier to rule. The ideal voter, to them, is one who will vote for you if you give them a cookie.
Think about this now and then when you remember who runs our education system.
