I thought about what I wrote there. I really think "intellectual disconnect" covers it. It's what allows someone who preaches morality to commit adultery and worse. It's what allows someone preaching green living to buy a mansion overlooking the Pacific.
The ideas just never hook up in their brains.
Lord knows human beings have a talent for believing six contradictory things before breakfast, but often it's stuff they just never really think about. What's the excuse for a politician, who's supposed to be basing his career on these things?
