Listening to the press. For years under Bush, when economic numbers were improving on almost every front, it was all about the lousy economy. Jobs created? Well, they were all the "wrong kind" of jobs. On and on.
Now, every news story seems to begin with "the economy is in recovery, but..." It's all in the attitude, I suppose.
Obama trumpets the 41,000 private jobs created, and the "fifth month in a row" of positive job numbers.
There's a reason the chart on that page only goes back to January of 2008. Bush went for 46 straight months (September 2003 through June of 2007) with a positive payroll job number every month. Only two of those months had fewer than 41,000 jobs created, and the average over that time was 171,000 new jobs per month. 7.88 million new jobs. And he got nothing but crap during that whole time about the economy.
